Aqua Jays win Mercury Open Tournament
We are excited to announce that we swept all box scores en route to winning the 2009 Mercury Marine Open Water Ski Show Tournament. Our dock & equipment crew, pick up boat crew, towboat driving crew, and sound/announcing crew all won their respective box score awards. We scored 1,970 points to beat the reigning national champions Mad-City Ski Team.
A special thank you to all of the teams that competed. It was great to be able to host a tournament at our site again, and we are glad you chose to come to Janesville for what turned out to be a homecoming of sorts for us.
Shows to resume June 14
We will resume performing water ski shows on Sunday, June 14 after nearly 22 months. Flooding in mid August 2007 and throughout the entire summer of 2008 resulted in the cancellation of 38 shows.
The show will start at 7:00 PM at Traxler Park in downtown Janesville. Admission is always free of charge.
Meanwhile, we'll have an exhibition on Wednesday, June 10 instead of a show. We haven't had much practice, so we need a little more time to prepare for resuming shows. The exhibition is open the public, and limited concessions may be available for purchase.
Slow, no wake lifted on parts of Rock River
From The Janesville Gazette
June 5, 2009 - 11:09 PM
Three municipalities have requested the Rock County Sheriff’s Office lift the slow/no wake restrictions on some parts of the Rock River.
The towns of Rock and Janesville have requested the restrictions be lifted because the river has fallen below flood stage, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
North of Janesville, the town of Fulton has asked the sheriff’s office to remove the restriction on the river below the Indianford Dam.
Until further notice, the slow/no wake restriction will remain in effect on the Rock River from north of the Indianford Dam to Lake Koshkonong.
