Aqua Jays to start practicing (finally!)
Now that the river is back to normal (or close to it) we'll be back on our own site at Traxler Park on the Rock River for the first time in 22 months. After 37 canceled shows since mid August 2007 and no organized team practices in 2008, we are ready to resume normal practices and shows.
Team members put the finishing touches on site preparations this past Friday. While our site is still "under construction," we are taking the necessary steps to be able to start practicing on Monday, June 8.
Several club members spent the evening down at the park doing last minute tasks such as cleaning off the main dock (which has been under water for nearly two years), removing the last remnants of the stage, cleaning up debris, making repairs, and installing the jump.
Team members Hayley Sarow, Tom Sarow, Roni Cook, Tom Cullen, Brian Pyszka, Joel Williams, Ann Kopp, Ian Slatter, Ben Kopp, and Matt Wilson take a break from working. Not pictured: Josh Fox, Judy Slatter, Jeanice Fox, and Steve Slatter.
A special thank to you those members who did so much to make it possible for us to get back on the water.
