Rock Aqua Jays named water ski team of the month

USA Water Ski has selected the Rock Aqua Jays Water Ski Show Team, Janesville, as its Team of the Month.

The Aqua Jays are now eligible for the U.S. Olympic Committee’s Athlete and Team of the Month honors, according to a press released from USA Water Ski, the national governing body of organized water skiing in the United States and also a member of the International Water Ski Federation, the Pan American Sports Organization and the United States Olympic Committee.

The Aqua Jays won the 2011 Mercury Marine Open Water Ski Tournament June 25-26 at Traxler Park when the team scored a total of 2,154 points after earning top team scores in every awards category. This included dock and equipment personnel, pick-up boat crews, towboat driving, showmanship, sound crew, overall show, high individual club act, ballet, jump and barefoot.

The Aqua Jays won by more than 390 points over their closest competitor in the 13-team field.
